Mane Stay Hair Studio is a privately-owned, education-based hair salon located in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Founder and stylist, Rachel Korman spent years yearning to open a salon that allowed her to connect with her clients on a deeper level, while offering world-class service. After extensive experience in New York City and a love for west coast lifestyle, this struggle ignited a spark that led to the creation Mane Stay, a space that is constantly evolving through continuous education, sparking change in an industry that’s often stuck in the past.

Brand Foundation


Rachel was looking to broaden her clientele, create awareness around the brand, and add soul to the studio’s inconsistent personality. The refined services offered by Mane Stay Hair Studio were not being accurately represented by their existing visual and verbal brand identity. It was important for our team to understand exactly who the Mane Stay Hair Studio voice wasn’t reaching and how it should change in order to appeal to them. Our research looked at the demographics of the St. Pete area and developed the personas of potential clients in order to understand their needs on a human level, then connected those needs with the appropriate messaging. This resulted in a polished, empowering, and empathetic voice and tone, that is clear about its motivation: delivering the highest quality service that is right for you.

Branding


The Mane Stay team really wanted their identity to represent the type of great salon that clients are always looking for: a sophisticated space that provides an extremely special experience in which clients recommend to loved ones. It was important that their branding also be comparable to the level of their craft and passionate attention to detail. Hype developed a brand identity system that would be easy to replicate within the salon space and complement the values of the Mane Stay team. This includes neutral color palettes, textures, and variations of the logotype and tag lines in eclectic fonts to be used in a variety of places.
