With ten years in business, we felt it was important to remember where we’ve been. Here’s a look into the history of Hype.

August 2009:

Brooke Boyd starts Hype, a creative agency based in St. Petersburg, FL.

June 2010:

Hype moves into its first office – an ultra-modern loft studio downtown St. Petersburg on Central Avenue.

August 2010:

The first Hype employee is hired! He moves cross-country from Buffalo, NY to sunny St. Petersburg, FL.

August 2011:

Hype moves into its second office – a larger space downtown St. Petersburg, also on Central Avenue.

August 2012:

The Hype team travels to NYC for the Curveturiere brand launch party!

December 2012:

Hype completes the branding for Green Bench Brewing. This was the start of many F&B branding projects for the company. Cheers!

April 2013:

Hype was recognized for their work at the World of Beer Annual Conference.

August 2013:

Hype moves into its third office – a loft-style space downtown St. Petersburg, also on Central Avenue.

July 2014:

Brooke is named ‘Business Woman of the Year’ by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.

Brooke and her husband Pete welcome their first child, Jackson Grace.

August 2016:

Hype is movin’ on up! The team moved into its current, chic and larger office space downtown St. Petersburg, again, on Central Avenue.

November 2016:

Hype curates its first ever design exhibition, called Et Cultura, at Green Bench Brewing. 

November 2016:

Brooke was named ‘Business Woman of the Year’ by the Tampa Bay Business Journal! You go girl!

Brooke treats the team to a Savannah trip to ring in the new year!

November 2017:

Hype curates the second annual Et Cultura design exhibition at Green Bench Brewing.

April 2017:

Hype takes on Austin, TX. Yeehaw!

July 2017:

Brooke, Nicole and the IL Ritorno team travel to NYC with Chef David Benstock for his James Beard House dinner. Mmmm.

August 2018:

Hype refines its brand. So fresh, and so clean, clean.

February 2018:

Hype commences work with Pabst Brewing (maybe you’ve heard of them) on rebranding their malt beverage line, Not Your Father’s.

April 2018:

INC. Magazine features a story on Brooke and other entrepreneurs in St. Petersburg.

May 2018:

Hype helps coordinate the Refinery29 x Rimmel London US event.

Hype team travels to New York City to shoot with Boar’s Head.

February 2019:

Brooke and her husband Pete welcome twin boys, Perry Brooks and Jennings Oliver. Double trouble!
