St. Pete Meat & Provisions was started with a purpose: to offer food that’s good for the planet, it’s people and it’s animals. This butcher shop was born out of the need for more transparency, and quite frankly, filled a much-needed void in the Tampa Bay area. They needed a visual and written identity that showcased their passionate approach to butchery and highlighted their family-owned, local vibe. We wanted to make it clear that St. Pete Meat & Provisions wasn’t just another neighborhood butcher shop. They are setting the standard by presenting a new approach to buying restaurant quality meats and cooking products.
Since they already had the goodies people wanted, all they needed was a brand identity and experience that captured the aesthetic of an old-school butcher shop. We created a custom logotype and overall brand identity system that felt just as innovative as their approach to butchery. The color palette of red, black and white not only speaks to the butcher craft, but it is very approachable. Along with the logo, we created a handful of assets that personify the butcher shop’s culture and the offerings. Overall, we wanted these additional designs to feel unique and educational.
The Brand Evolution includes everything necessary to operate the butcher shop, such as merchandise, signage, product packaging, way-finding and other customized collateral. We developed badges, labels for the prepared foods packaging, and educational illustrations to inform the consumer on the craft of butchery. The St. Pete Meat & Provisions experience encompasses innovative, yet timeless design, elevated by eye-catching illustrations with an old-school vibe.
