Grand Central Brewhouse

Located on Central Avenue downtown St. Petersburg, Grand Central Brewhouse is a thoughtfully designed brewery, taproom, beer garden, and event venue that offers world-class beer. When they contacted us to develop the brand prior to breaking ground on their expansive brewery, we jumped at the opportunity!

Research & Acculturation

The first phase of our work with Grand Central Brewhouse focused on defining the brewery’s market, offerings, and design direction. This information gave both the client and our team a better understanding of industry expectations and how our creative solutions could help bring this brand to life within the city of St. Pete.

Brand Foundation

The next phase of our work was to develop the Grand Central Brewhouse written identity showcasing their commitment to producing world-class brews. We positioned GCB, giving it an established brand position connecting it to its target audience, while also developing a unique voice and tone for the brand. This process gave the brewery a personality and voice/tone to consistently communicate to its audience.

Brand Identity

Our vision for the brand was to combine the vibe of the Grand Central District with the industrial interior of the brewery. We incorporated art deco shapes and curves into the custom logotype, representing the retro architecture found throughout St. Pete. These abstract types and shapes can also be found within the brand asset collection and the brand evolution, including signage and menu design. In addition, the color palette offers a warm and approachable feeling to the brand, while also blending in with the wood and steel tones of the space.

Along with the branding, our team provided proof of concept ranging from beer taps, to menu design, signage, and more! These examples showcased how the brand identity could go from our digital screens to real life applications. Our extensive library of custom assets can be seen throughout each piece, making for a very unified brand package.

Public Relations

Once the brand identity was finalized, it was time to announce Grand Central Brewhouse to the public! We curated press releases and distributed them locally to build excitement for the opening.
