As a creative agency we’re often approached with different tasks on the daily. If you’re in the industry, you know that no two days are the same when it comes to #agencylife. From rebranding, to creating social posts with whipped cream, our wheels are always spinning, but if there’s something we definitely stay true to, it is our love for local. With Saturday morning markets, the urge to push the farm-to-table trend, and the ability to purchase your furniture from a vintage shop that repurposed a desk into something you’d probably overpay for at Anthropologie, St. Petersburg, Florida is a huge melting pot of people, coming together to help the city flourish. So, you can only imagine our excitement when we heard that we would have the honor of being nominated ambassadors of the city we love so much. In partnership with Ninth North, we have the opportunity to show off what St. Petersburg has to offer through the On the Grid website.
On the Grid is a user-friendly guide curated by talented designers throughout the world who want to share only the most exceptional places in their neighborhood with the rest of the world. The platform, curated by Hyperakt, a design agency based in Brooklyn, is the designer’s guide to neighborhood gems.
How many times have you found yourself in a new city, not knowing where to venture to next, and elbow deep in curiosity to see if there might be some really cool coffee shop that not only has the best coffee your taste buds ever encountered, but it had amazing branding as well? Well, your wishes have been granted. With On the Grid, you can easily locate the best and most popular places in a plentiful amount of cities throughout the world; and who’s better judgment to trust than the one of the designers and locals that frequent these places on the daily?
Working on this project has been an absolute pleasure for the team, because not only do we get to visit the places we already love so much, but we get to portray them in a way that will attract others to visit them as well. Among our St. Petersburg attractions are the world famous Salvador Dalí museum, StillwatersTavern, Locale Market, The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops, Station House, VinoyPark, Green Bench Brewery, Furnish Me Vintage, The Mandarin Hide, and of course, the beautiful murals in the 600 Block alley that have become such a staple in identifying the city as one of creativity and liberalism.
We are excited to be able to collaborate with agencies around the world in order to put our small, but great city on the map Grid. We hope to be able to communicate the beauty of St. Petersburg to both locals and tourists and to be able to portray the manner in which our city grows on the daily. After all, from amazing beaches, to a foodie’s paradise, to an artist’s blank canvas, St. Petersburg is the place to be.
