Last week we received a special visit from some very dear new friends. We first crossed paths with Guillermo Paz when he contacted Hype Group to feature one of our tourism clients, Beach Bar and Restaurant, on his international travel blog. Having over 60,000 daily views on his blog, Guillermo is a social media expert from Córdoba, Argentina, making his way through the United States with his partner, Dayana. They aim to take in the variety of cultures and activities of different metropolitan areas of the world and then do coverage of their unique experiences on their sites.
This month, the couple will be sharing their experience of their Central Florida trip, focusing on the Orlando and Tampa Bay areas, before making their way to Texas – where they would attend to a music festival that Willie Nelson is hosting on his ranch and personally invited them to! We’re all so jealous!
Before arriving in the Tampa Bay area, they landed in Orlando, where some of their stops included an Orlando Magic game, a stroll through Universal Studios, and the views of The Orlando Eye. Once headed to Tampa Bay, they experienced some thrills at Tampa’s Busch Gardens, toured the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, and sipped on some brews at Sea Dog Brewing in Clearwater.
Of course, there’s no true experience of an area without the sampling the region’s culinary specialties! While making their way through the landmarks of Tampa Bay, Guillermo and Dayana stopped for lunch and dinner at some of the area’s best restaurants. Starting with The Cider Press Café for a gourmet raw-vegan lunch, and ending with a 5-course chef’s tasting dinner with wine pairings at IL Ritorno, their palates were treated to vibrant and exciting flavors all weekend-round. Some of their other culinary stops included Bodega on Central, Green Bench Brewing, and The Boulevard Burgers & Tap House – after all, the way to one’s heart is through one’s stomach, and we made it our mission to help Tampa Bay steal their hearts as quickly as possible.
Ironically, it seems to have been the other way around. Before heading north on their adventure-filled day, Guillermo and Dayana stopped by Hype Group and shared a piece of the Argentinian culture with our team. The couple treated our group to alfajores (a sweet treat similar to that of a French macaroon), Bon Bons, and even introduced us to Argentina’s signature drink, the yerba mate. The special tradition with yerba mate is that it is meant to be shared as a community drink. The tea-like beverage is drank through a specially-crafted cup that holds the herbs and its flavorful characteristics. We learned that the drink is meant to bring the community together – something that Guillermo and Dayana thought that Hype Group would appreciate, given that we are such a tight-knit team.
Thank you Guillermo and Dayana for your wonderful visit, and for sharing a piece of your culture with our team. We are looking forward to your next visit, and can’t wait to hear all about your adventures throughout the country! Say hi to Willie Nelson for us!
